The Free Advertising Trap

If you are a home business owner, you have probably heard from your upline to advertise, advertise, advertise.

If you’re like me, you probably spent hours on the free advertsing sites. Run your ads in the morning, go back at lunch time and update, and then (if you are done with updating all the ads from lunchtime yet), you can update them again before retiring.

That’s what you need to do to stay on top.

What happens then?

You are considered a spammer!

Of course not all ads need to be updated as diligently. The reason?

There are NO Visitors to the site!

That could be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. Some of these sites have very few advertisers or visitors, so your ad may stay on top for months! I still get leads from some OLD ads!

But the thing that finally hit me was that the majority of the leads from free ads are not good, qualified leads.

Most have no idea what to expect from a homebased business, nor are they up to the task of business ownership.

They will either never join you or they will join you and never work. Then leave.

What about that “gem” we are all supposed to be on the look out for?

I would rather have them find ME.

This I have accomplished through blogging, social networking and the Attraction Marketing System. My income has increased while my work schedule has decreased.

I now go to bed by 9 p.m. and watch my favorite sitcoms. For years I didn’t get to bed before midnight (Had to update all those ads, remember?)

Anyhoo, I have been writing down some of my thoughts regarding home business and how blogging and social networking can be used in business.

I eventually created a special report, which you can sign up for on my website:

I hope that this information will help business owners reduce their time on the computer and give it back to their family, where it should be.

That’s a bad trap to get into, for sure. I remember signing up for a couple of them, doing each for a few minutes a couple of times, then deciding it was a waste of time and never using them again. I still have one that writes me from time to time, but I don’t remember the password to kill the thing. lol
