When you have no Internet….

We just came back last night from our first weekend camping. We had a blast- you can read about it HERE if you’d like… but I had one little problem…no Internet!

According to the maintenance guy at camp, there are a ton of people who have Verizon there. He thought I may be able to catch a signal from one of them.

I’m very leery of doing something like that…if I’m at the persons house and need to use my computer then I feel that’s ok. They pay for it and are saying I can use it.

Maybe next weekend, I’ll try my computer by the pool (which the maintenance dude lives by) and try to catch HIS signal, since he suggested it…if I can get it, I’ll ask him if he meant it was ok if I used His signal :-)

I am also going to call At & t to see if I can use my Blackberry as a signal device (or whatever it’s called) for the computer. If not, inquire again about getting the modem card.

Next year, I plan on camping much of the summer, so may have Internet turned on at the campsite.

In the meantime, if I can’t get Internet I figured I can do my blog posts on my word processing program, and post from a library in the closest town or wait until I get home.

I could also attempt to post with my Blackberry, but considering my problems texting and such, I can’t imagine writing a 400 – or- so- word- blog post! I guess I’ll just have to try….

I already check email and can post to Twitter and Facebook from the Blackberry.

The only other option is to RELAX……at least on the weekends, but I seem to have a hard time doing that!

So I’m wondering…

Any suggestions from the peanut gallery?

What would you do if you had no Internet?

    Good post Carolee,

Sometimes having no internet connection is a good thing!

If you’re using WordPress you can schedule blog posts in advance. Just write them as usual, but hit the schedule button instead of publish. You can load them up days, weeks or months in advance.
